After studying to become an aircraft technician, with additional training for the Civil Aviation Authority’s competences for airframe, reciprocating engines and turbine engines, Hans first worked for a year in general aviation. After that year, he worked for approximately 3 years for a Dutch company in Iran as a ground engineer, where he was responsible for the everyday maintenance in the field and airworthiness of helicopters.
In 1979, he switched to the loss adjusting sector, initially specialising in technical transport losses. After a few years, his work was extended to include machinery breakdown, property and CAR/EAR/Warranty, especially in the process industry and power stations, both in the Netherlands and abroad. In this role he acted on behalf of all insurers located in the Netherlands, but also frequently on behalf of foreign insurers, when loss adjusting was also required in accordance with the Anglo Saxon background.
Since 1992, Hans has been listed in the NIVRE (Dutch Association of Chartered Loss Adjusters) register. For the past 15 years, as well as claims under the aforementioned insurances, he also handled Business Liability Insurance and product liability cases, insofar as these were technical in nature. At the moment, his work mainly focuses on machinery breakdown, CAR/EAR/Warranty in the process industry and energy sector (process furnaces, steam boilers, rotating equipment, such as engines, pumps, gas turbines, wind turbines, etc.) and Business Liability Insurance in the technical sector.
