Following his arrival in the Netherlands in 2000, Sassan worked at two well-known contracting firms. Back in his home country, Sassan studied construction and worked at his father’s contracting firm for a number of years. This company worked on the construction of viaducts and water ducts for the Iranian government, and house construction for private clients. At the contracting firms in the Netherlands, he held positions as cost estimator and planning engineer.
In 2005 Sassan made the switch to loss adjusting, working in a new role as a SAM (Survey And Measure) Loss Adjustor. In this role, he monitored the repair of significant losses at building sites. In addition, he determined the scope of damage/losses and prepared estimations based on the actual costs incurred. He also carried out loss-related structural inspections and measurements and he settled liability/CAR claims at the instruction of insurers.
In 2012, Sassan established his own business and has continued some of the associated activities. His own business activities include the preparation of risk analyses and monitoring plans, performing loss-related constructional surveys, vibration and height measurements and, where necessary, surveying and dealing with structural losses at the instruction of contractors. In addition to these activities, since March 2019, he has been assessing the damage resulting from the earthquakes in Groningen. He has worked as a loss adjustor for Artium Experts since late 2020.
