Surveyor

After Erik graduated his Technical College education Civil Engineering in 1995 and his commercial Post graduate study in 1996, he worked for a short period at an engineering company. In 1997 he entered D. Touw Expertise- en Ingenieursbureau and was involved until 2001 as an assistant project manager in the preparation, tendering and execution of the Project Wreck Removal Westerscheldt. Meanwhile, Erik was introduced into the world of loss adjusting and worked as a loss surveyor at D. Touw from 2001 and from 2003 at ITS Expertise.

In 2007 Erik switched to GAB Robins Takkenberg and its legal successor Cunningham Lindsey Nederland. Erik worked here as a loss adjuster at the liability/CAR division and the Major and Complex Loss division and also fulfilled a commercial role. 

Meanwhile, Erik has handled a wide range of loss claims in the field of (wet) civil works, construction engineering and road construction in the Netherlands and abroad. Herein Erik takes advantage of his technical and commercial skills in obtaining the best possible solution for his clients (insurers, brokers, corporate clients and governments).

Erik is also experienced in providing (technical) assistance to clients by teaming up with lawyers in dispute resolution cases, for example in legal procedures, procedures for the Arbitration board for the building industry and in ICC Arbitration, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

In addition Erik deploys his technical and commercial skills in consultancy cases, a.o. for technical advice, root-cause investigations and project management.

Erik is a registered NIVRE expert since 2009 and a registered adjuster at FUEDI since 2011.

In 2017 Erik followed the education as required by the GWO (Global Wind Organisation) in order to work on onshore and offshore wind turbine projects.
